How to Modify Newsletter Settings and Preferences

Learn how to customize your newsletter’s status, send schedule, review notifications, and subject line

This guide will help you modify important newsletter settings like the send date, status, review notification, and subject line. Adjusting these preferences ensures your newsletter is sent on time and with the right messaging.

Step 1: Access the Settings & Preferences Screen

From the main dashboard, click on "Modify settings and preferences"

Step 2: Newsletter Settings Overview:

From this interface, you will be able to do the following:

  • A) Status: Change the status from one of the three available options:
    • Enabled (Full Auto): System will generate a newsletter ahead of the scheduled send date and notify you to review it, AND will schedule the newsletter to be automatically sent on the specified date. If you do nothing, the newsletter will be sent out on it's own. Ideal for users who want complete automation.
    • Enabled (Drafts Only): System will automatically generate a newsletter ahead of the scheduled send date, and notify you to review it. However it will not schedule to send automatically. You will need to send or schedule it manually. Once the newsletter is generated, it will have the DRAFT status. Ideal for anyone who wants to ensure they always review the newsletter before it's sent out or scheduled by themselves.
    • Disabled:  Disables automatic scheduled generation of the newsletter. Manual generation is still available. This mode puts you in full control of when you produce your newsletter and when you send it out. Ideal for those who want complete control over content and delivery of their newsletters.
  • B) Send Schedule: Select or change the date of the month you want your newsletter to be sent out.
  • C) Generate & Notify to Review: Select how many days in advance you'd like to generate and be reminded to review your newsletter. You can choose max up to 5 days before the scheduled send date.
  • D) Send To: This is where you can manage contacts who would receive your newsletter. Click “View” to see who’s currently selected. To update your list, click “Change Recipients” —this will open the tool where you can import new contacts, choose your source, or apply filters to segment your audience.
  • E) Subject: This is the subject line your recipients will see in their inbox. The macro automatically inserts the current month, so no need to change that. For example, you might use: “ Edition Real Estate News by Jane Agent.” Each month, it will auto-update the beginning dynamically while keeping the rest of the subject line consistent with what you fill in here.
  • F) Apply Branding: This will apply current email branding to your newsletter header and footer. You can choose to toggle this on or off if you wish. We recommend to keep this on. “Open Email Branding” will open the Branding wizard enabling you to set up or make changes to the branding.
  • G) Template Editor: Customize the overall look and layout of your newsletter here. You can add or edit content blocks—like articles and listing sources—which will automatically fill in when the newsletter is generated for its scheduled preview date.
  • H) Full Preview: This allows you to see your current newsletter populated with the available content inside the placeholders of your newsletter.
    • Further in this section below if you scroll down, you will find two additional settings that you can update:
      • Sender Name: By default, the account name. You can change this if you prefer a different sender name.
      • Sender Email: The default email. You can change this if you prefer a different send to email address.
      • Delete Settings: As noted in the screenshot below, by deleting your settings, this will enable you to go through the setup wizard again to create a new set of preferences and restart the process from scratch.

  • I) Generate Draft: Allows you to manually generate a newsletter, creating it in draft mode. You may edit, test, and send this draft out manually. No automation is in effect if you proceed with this option. Generating and/or sending this draft has no impact on the automation.

  • J) Save Settings: Click on this to apply changes. It is important to note that changed settings apply to the next scheduled newsletter. If the current month’s newsletter has already been sent, updates will take effect starting with the following month

Congratulations! You've completed the process to modify your email settings and preferences.
