Step by step guide to quickly get your contacts inside your newsletter to send your first campaign
Follow these steps to upload your contacts for Email Marketing including newsletter.
Step 1: Download your contacts into a CSV File
Export your contacts from your phone (Google or Apple Contacts) or CRM (like Follow Up Boss, BoldTrail, etc.) as a CSV file. This process is usually simple. Here are guides for common services::
- Google Contacts: Follow this guide here.
- Apple Contacts: Follow this guide here.
- For other CRMs, check their support resources for instructions on exporting contacts. We've put together a convenient list of common CRMs you can export your contacts from. View it here for instructions.
Step 2: Import Contacts into myRealPage Newsletter
Go to the Marketing tab, select Monthly Newsletter, and click Import. If you’re already in the newsletter wizard, you’ll see the import option on your dashboard.
Step 3: Import Contacts into myRealPage Newsletter
As soon as you click on "IMPORT" the tool will prompt you to drop in your CSV file automatically. From Step 1, attach your CSV file at this step.
Step 4: Map Records
After uploading your CSV, you’ll need to map your data to the correct fields:
- A) Source Column: Shows the headers from your original CSV file.
- B) Column Preview: Displays sample data from each CSV column.
- C) Target Column: Map your data here to match the newsletter fields. You only need to map First Name, Last Name, and Email.
See the screenshot below for an example of proper mapping.
Step 5: Run Import
The final step is to run the import. Before clicking Import, review these options:
- A) Apply Labels: Assign a label to these contacts for easy segmentation later. You can target emails to specific labeled groups. (Tutorial Coming Soon)
- B) Tag As: Add a specific tag to all imported contacts to simplify future management. E.g. “Open House Apr 5 Leads”
- C) Update Existing Records: Enable this to overwrite existing contacts with the new CSV data.
- D) Marketing Consent For All: Enable this only if you have obtained marketing consent from all contacts to comply with anti-spam laws.
When ready, click Import to start the process.
Step 6: Use Imported Recipients
Once you click on import, you will be prompted to use this imported list of recipients. Click on the option to use imported contacts, if you plan to use them right away.
Step 7: Choose Recipients and Save
Your imported contact list (shown as Match Lead Sources) will automatically load here. Review your recipients, then click Save and Close to finish.
Note: If you want all sources inside your leads section to appear, simply delete the Lead Source filter. This will enable your newsletter to be shown to all current leads inside of your myRealPage dashboard PLUS the CSV file you've uploaded.
Note: Re-generate Newsletter Pop Up
A pop-up will appear asking if you want to re-generate the newsletter.
-
Click Yes, Re-Generate! if you’ve made changes to the newsletter template (the contents of the newsletter)
-
Click No if you only updated contacts or settings without modifying the template.
Congratulation! You have successfully added your contacts!
