A simple guide to review and edit your newsletter content before your next send
Now that you’ve uploaded your contacts, you can start editing your newsletter to personalize it. Here’s how:
Step 1: Access Current Month's Newsletter
Note: You can only edit your newsletter within five days before it’s sent. For example, if your newsletter is scheduled for June 21, you can start editing from June 16. This is when you can modify content and prepare it for sending.
From the monthly newsletter dashboard, click on Edit to launch the window to modify the newsletter content:
Step 2: General Editing for Styles, Backdrop, Canvas, Font, and Text Colour
Use the following screenshot and references to learn how to make global changes to your newsletter:
- A) Backdrop Colour: In behind your newsletter, you will notice a colour. You can change this here by picking your backdrop colour.
- B) Canvas Colour: Modify the main background colour inside the newsletter.
- C) Canvas Border Colour: You can put a border around your newsletter by controlling the colour here.
- D) Canvas Border Radius: Adjust the border’s corner roundness for a softer look.You can adjust the border radius around the newsletter to have a more curved look and feel.
- E) Font Family: Choose from any of the available font options to change the feel of your newsletter text.
- F) Text Colour: Change the colour of your text globally with this option as it appears in your newsletter.
Step 3: Modify Email Branding (Header & Footer)
If you haven't done so already, you can modify the email header and footer by clicking the top block on the newsletter, and clicking on the corresponding "Edit Branding" option to the right.

Step 4: Editing Content Explained:
Editing your newsletter has a lot of controls! For a more detailed explanation, we will have an upcoming article that dives into a ton of detail alongside a video tutorial! Stay tuned!
Step 5: Adding New Content
Click on the blue (+) buttons located on the screen between two sections. This appears when you click on a specific block inside the newsletter. You will then see the button appear, which indicates you would like to add something here above or below the block you've selected.
Below is an available list of blocks you can add:
- A) Heading: Add a heading text block
- B) Text: Add a specific paragraph text block
- C) Button: Add a call to action button
- D) Image: Adds an image block. You will be able to use your own images or the ones provided using our stock photography library.
- E) Divider: Use a divider to separate sections from each other.
- F) Spacer: Use a spacer to put space between sections and increase the padding.
- G) HTML: Use this block to insert custom code into a section.
- H) Columns: Allow you to add multiple columns into your newsletter for a certain style
- I) Containers: Allow you to add specific containers to be more specific in your layout with text, images, and content.
- J) Content: Allows you to paste a URL for any content on the web that you can have the newsletter scrape and plug into your newsletter. Very helpful for news articles.
- K) Video Link: Allows you to paste the URL of a video link from youtube and have the thumbnail be pulled in directly with a link to that video. It automatically overlays it with a play button and provides a clickthrough URL link.
- L) Listing: Allows you to put a listing of your choice inside the newsletter directly from your listing library.
Step 6: Existing Content From Newsletter Template
Existing content will be pulled in automatically from the newsletter template. These are the settings that you have enabled in the initial newsletter wizard. Feel free to keep or remove the content as you see fit.
- A) Titles: For any existing content that gets pulled in through the automated newsletter, you have the capability of editing.
- B) Images: You can even modify the images of existing content that is loaded
- C) Paragraph: Edit the paragraph to your suitability.
- D) Button: Change the button URL or colour and more by clicking on top of the button.
- E) Delete: If you prefer to remove some aspects of the automated newsletter, you can delete them accordingly with this sidebar option on the left hand side.
Step 7: Preview & Test
After you are done editing your newsletter, click on the next option in the bottom right hand corner. It will bring you to a screen where you can now edit the Subject line of your email, alongside with sending yourself a test.
- A) Subject Line: This is what your audience will see when the newsletter gets sent.
- B) Send Test: This test will allow you to see your newsletter inside your inbox to ensure it's ready to be sent out to your contacts.
Step 8: Select Recipients
By clicking on next, you will be then asked to confirm your recipients. If you have already imported your contacts, you will already see that the option is selected to send to all or some of your leads. Choose what leads you would like to add in this area, and click on next.
- A) Send To: Choose who you want to send your newsletter to.
- B) Contacts Selected: This is where you will see what contacts have been selected to have your newsletter sent to. You can change this by trashing the current option that's defaulted and adding a new one or leave it blank to include all the contacts that you've uploaded.
- C) Add Filter: Filtering allows you to manually choose or sort by label or source for different records you want to add into the newsletter.
- D) Import Contact Records: Allow you to drop in your CSV file for records.
Step 9: Finish & Schedule
The final screen will allow you to finish and schedule your newsletter. See available options below:
- A) Internal Name: this is the name for your reference only internally for the newsletter.
- B) Scheduling Options: You can choose to schedule your newsletter here specifically with a date and time as shown in C) Scheduled Date.
- Additionally, you can keep this newsletter in Draft stage or Send Now.
- Once you are done, click on Finish and Schedule.
Congratulations! You've completed the editing process for your current month newsletter!
