How to Add the WordPress Shortcode to Your WordPress Website

This article will guide you on how to add the WordPress Shortcodes to your WordPress website.

Login to your WordPress website

  • Click here for further information on logging into WordPress

1 - Click "Pages" on the left hand sidebar to add your new plugin to a page:

2 - Hover over the page you wish to edit, and click the "Edit" option:

3 - Select the area to add the plugin, and click the "+" icon:

4 - Select the myRealPage - Shortcode" option:

  • Note: You will need to search for this in the search field, once you have used it, it will display in the options going forward.

5 - Click on the "Retrieve myRealPage Shortcode" button:

  • A. Shortcode: Follow the steps below to add your shortcode: 

 

Note: You will need to login to your myRealPage account in the popup window at this point.

1 - Navigate to "Listings" tab:

  • Click on "Listings" to manage your listings.

2 - Click on "WordPress / Embed" in the left hand column:

3 - Select WordPress in the top right corner:

  • A. Listing Set: Embed a group of listings, or select multiple individual listings.
  • B. Individual Listing: Embed a single listing.
  • C. Listing Search: Embed a new search based on different parameters.

4.1 - Select the listing(s) you wish to embed (LISTING SET):

  • A. Active/Sold/By MLS® Number: Select individual listings from your inventory, or MLS® number.
  • B. Add Listing Group: Add your listings as a group, either your "My Listings", "Office Listings", or one of your Predefined Searches.
  • C. Custom Sort: Select form the list of options how you want to sort the listings on your website.
  • D. Show Filters: Select whether to show the slider filter controls.
  • E. Initial Hide Filters: Select whether to initially show the slider filter in a collapsed/hidden mode.
  • F. Details Page: Specify under what page listing details will be shown what a listing item is clicked. Please ensure the page has a listing block (or shortcode in WordPress) capable of displaying listing details. For example recip.html or /listings/ in WordPress.

4.2 - Select the listing(s) you wish to embed (INDIVIDUAL LISTING):

  • A. Active/Sold/By MLS® Number: Select an individual listing from your inventory, or MLS® number.

4.3 - Select the listing(s) you wish to embed (LISTING SEARCH):

  • A. List IDX Search: Search with results displayed in a list form. 
    Map IDX Search: Search with results displayed on an interactive map. 
    Compact Search Form: Compact search form that can be embedded into a WordPress site via HTML.
  • B. Specify the Area: Set the radius of the search by using the map (Select "LARGE RADIUS" for larger search area) 
  • C. Pre-Selected Locations: Search by locations based on your real estate board. 
  • D. Price: Set the price parameters for your search. 
  • E. Property/Dwelling Type: Select which property/dwelling type (Note: You can select more then one) 
  • F. Bedrooms: Set the bedroom parameters for your search. 
  • G. Bathrooms: Set the bathroom parameters for your search.  
  • H. Year Built: Set the year built parameters for your search.  
  • I. Square Feet Range: Select the square foot range for your search. 
  • J. Custom Sort: Select how your listings will be sorted on your results. 
  • K. Custom Details Page: Relative or absolute URL of the page where listing details can be shown. Please note that the page must contain myRealPage shortcode for the List IDX Search.  

5 - Click on the "GET SHORTCODE" button once you are ready:

6 - Click "COPY TO CLIPBOARD" to copy the shortcode to your clipboard:

7 - Paste the shortcode on your desired WordPress page
