How Do I Add A Search To My Wordpress Site?

This article will summarize how to add a listings search to your WordPress website.

Login to your WordPress website

  • Click here for further information on logging into WordPress

1 - On the page/post you want to add listings to, click on the "+" icon to add a block:

2 - Add the "myRealPage - Shortcode" block to your post/page:

3 - Click on "Retrieve myRealPage Shortcode" button on the newly added block:

4 - In the popup login window, login to your myRealPage account:

5 - In the same popup window, select  the "Search Forms" tab at the top of the window:

6 - Select a form the "Choose a search form:" drop down:

7 - Fine tune your search settings (Optional):

  • A. Set Map Position and Radius: Select search area by the radius of the circle on the map
  • B. Search For: Select which category of listings you wish to search (Residential/Rental/Commercial)
  • C. Disable map zoom on scroll: Prevent interactive map from zooming when the scroll wheel is used.
  • D. Pre-Selected Locations: Select which locations will be searched by default
  • E. Price: Select the price range parameters to search
  • F. Property/Dwelling Type: Select the property/dwelling type to search
  • G. Bedrooms: Select how many bedrooms to search
  • H. Bathrooms: Select how many bathrooms to search
  • I. Year Built: Select a range of years built to search
  • J. Square Feet Range: Select a range of Sq. Ft. to search
  • K. Status: Select which status of listings to search (Active or Sold)
  • L. Sort: Select which order results will display in
  • M. Custom Details Page (Advanced): Here you can specify under what page listing details will be shown when a listing item is clicked. Please ensure the page has a listing block (or shortcode in WordPress) capable of displaying listing details. For example recip.html or /listings/ in WordPress

8 - Once your search settings are ready, click the "Generate Shortcode" button at the bottom of the window:

9 - Click on the "Send to WordPress" button in the following pop up window:

10 - Save/Update/Publish your changes:
